Divorce, Separation and Annulment
We handle cases involving divorce, separation and annulment. Either spouse may pursue divorce, which will end the marriage. Hobson Oram Law can assist you with all aspects of your divorce, including child custody and support spousal support and division of property and debts.
For various reasons, parties may elect to seek a legal separation instead of a divorce. A legal separation deals with all of the same relationship aspects as a divorce. However, the parties remain married. A legal separation may be for a limited period of time or indefinitely. At Hobson Oram Law, we can help you make the right decision for you and your family.
Under limited circumstances, a marriage may be annulled. This is possible when a person did not have the legal capacity to be married because one party was under age or not otherwise legally competent. Annulment is also an option when one party was fraudulently induced into marriage. If a marriage is annulled, it is as if the marriage never occurred. However, the court has the power to grant the same relief with regard to children, support and property division in an annulment as it does in a divorce.
