The Legal Consequences of Violating Child Custody Orders

A child custody order is a legally enforceable judgment that could land a parent in hot water with the Oregon court system should they violate it. If you violate your custody and/or plan, the court could issue an order resulting in less time with your child or even lost custody. There are often also financial sanctions that are ordered as well. If the other parent files a motion for contempt of court, you possible probation, fines, and may even have to pay the other parties legal costs, among other things.
